Waseem Carrim
Carrim joined the NYDA in 2014 as Chief Financial Officer and was promoted to Chief Executive Officer in 2017. During his tenure, he led the agency to nine consecutive clean audit outcomes and expanded its budget from R400 million to R1.5 billion. In March 2025, Carrim was appointed Acting Chief Executive Officer of NSFAS, where he previously served as Chief Financial Officer.
